Cookbook Clubs are coming your way!

Do you like food? Enjoy making new friends? Then we’ve got just the thing for you: Cookbook Club!

Cookbook Club allows us to explore a cookbook in depth, try out a wide range of recipes at once, expand our horizons and learn from each other.

How it works: Each participant will “read” the cookbook and make a dish from it ahead of time. When we meet, we’ll sample the dishes (potluck style) and discuss what we liked—or didn’t like—about the cookbook.

Cookbook Club is about learning and trying new things—not being a perfect cook. There is no judgment when a recipe doesn’t turn out, someone runs out of time or has to swap out an ingredient for something else.  The goal is to learn from the books and one another. It is certainly not mandatory for everyone to make and bring a dish, but it does add to the fun.

Currently Cookbook Clubs are hosted at the Englehardt (Lowell) Branch and the Byron Township Branch. This spring, KDL will be expanding this program to also include the Cascade and East Grand Rapids Branches.
