Calling All Teen Poets

We are currently accepting entries to our annual Write Michigan Teen Poetry Contest, open to teens in grades 6-12 living in Kent County. This is a great opportunity for teens to share their writing and win a cool prize. Teens are encouraged to submit up to two poems by April 4 at midnight to be eligible to win a $50 gift card to Meijer.

There's more! Teens who enter the Poetry Contest are invited to read one of their poems at a Teen Poetry Slam for another chance to win. The Slam for teens in grades 6-8 will take place at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 27. The Slam for teens in grades 9-12 will take place at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 28. Both events will take place at the Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch. These will be live and uncensored events.

Enter the contest today! We can't wait to read your poems.
