Six years ago, KDL began partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to provide lunches for school-aged children during the summer months at four branches. Today, that partnership includes 15 KDL branches and the Bookmobile. We served over 23,000 lunches this year! We are so honored to be a trusted community partner. Being able to meet our families where they are through the Gather 2 Grow program has had a tremendous impact on our staff and communities.
One KDL staff member shared: “Gather 2 Grow was a great way to bridge the lunchtime gap for families. We were able to help every weekday this summer. Making sure kids knew they had a meal was extremely rewarding and something families in our community appreciated.”
KDL is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Feeding America West Michigan in order to offer the Gather 2 Grow program. We look forward to working together again in 2025.
