Meet Anna, a Branch Librarian at our Walker Branch. She started working for KDL in February and just graduated with her Master's in Library Science in May. She's excited for Summer Wonder, which kicks off on June 1.
Let's get to know Anna a little bit more.
The best book I’ve ever read is...
People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. It combines my passion for books, history and the truth that humans will always be complex and strange creatures with baffling motivations.
If I could meet one person - dead or alive- I would choose...
Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. She was an amazing scholar and avoided the expectations of women at the time by joining a nunnery. Safe in the nunnery, she was able to further her intellectual and musical pursuits and upset her fellow male scholars.
The best trip I have ever taken was to...
Krakow, Poland for an undergraduate class. Seeing things that have been standing since the 1100s nearly overwhelmed my historian heart!
When I was a child, I wanted to grow up to be…
Surprise, surprise… a librarian! Either that or an anthropologist. I switched between the two a lot.
This past year has been tough, but it taught me...
Therapy is an absolute game-changer. You will make it through to the other side, and it will get better, I promise.
We are so happy to have Anna as part of the KDL family!
