Winter Break Programming

There are more than 50 events happening during winter break to get you and your family out of the house and engaged and learning at the library. Here are just a few! For the full list of events,  visit kdl.org/events/winterbreak.

Ready for Reindeer!
Traveling all the way from the North Pole (via Rooftop Landing Reindeer Farms), live reindeer will be visiting the library. Dress warmly for this outdoor program, and don't forget the camera!

John Ball Zoo’s Winter Animals
John Ball Zoo will bring the zoo to KDL! Learn how animals adapt to survive the winter and interact with live zoo animals in the comfort of the library.

Llamas at Your Library
Meet real-life llamas like the ones in the Llama Llama books.

Teen Super Smash Bros. Tournament
It's eSports time for teens! Bring your friends to compete at Super Smash Bros. using Nintendo Switch. Many will enter, but only one will be crowned champion!

Youth Mario Kart Tournament
It's eSports time for kids ages 5-10! Race your way through the competition on Mario Kart for Nintendo Switch. Bring your friends or make new ones at the event as you work to see whose kart is the fastest.

Happy Noon Year
We're giving kids an exciting way to ring in the new year with a countdown, noisemakers, crafts and fun — at an hour that won't keep them up way past their bedtimes.

Meet the Sled Dogs
Come meet the sled dogs from Tun-Dra kennels and their owners. Ask questions about mushing, the Iditarod and more. The program will take place outside, so dress accordingly.
