Kent District Library Presents Summer Wonder

This year, Kent District Library will take you on a Summer Wonder journey of reading, learning and experiencing! The challenge is designed for multiple learning styles to keep families engaged and inspired. KDL is excited to bring you a spectacular summer of outdoor discovery, scavenger hunts, reading, STEAM activities and lots of fun for everyone.

Participate in Summer Wonder, which runs from June 3 – August 9, by picking up a Tracking Log at any KDL branch or signing up online at kdl.beanstack.org. It’s free and includes adventures and prizes for all ages. KDL is the perfect place to keep summer learning alive and growing.

“Earning prizes for reading and having fun ―what could be better?” said Julie Ralston, Branch Programming and Outreach Specialist. “Summer Wonder is one of the best things that KDL offers. You don’t want to miss out!”

KDL is also offering a great line-up of free summer programs and presenters including singing, magic, animals, puppets, STEAM activities and more!  For a complete listing, visit kdl.org/events.

Summer Wonder is a great opportunity to limit the “summer slide” that negatively affects learning between the end and start of the traditional school year. Extensive research shows that children involved in summertime reading programs sponsored by public libraries are more likely to maintain their academic skills, and in many cases do better on standardized tests.
