Experience KDL: Art Exchange at the Kentwood Branch

By Audrey Barker, Branch Librarian

In a world that can sometimes feel a bit divided, it's refreshing to find opportunities to come together in commonality. That’s exactly what we’re doing here at the Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch! Thanks to a wonderful collaboration with the local MSU extension, we’ve been invited to take part in a special art exchange with China, bringing a little peace and joy to our communities there and here.

As part of this exchange, artwork created by our talented patrons at the One Earth station during Kentwood’s Celebrate Earth Day event are heading to China for an exciting art exhibition in the Shandong Province. In return, colorful, vibrant artwork created by children in China is now on display right here at the Kentwood Branch. These cheerful and lively pieces will be on display all summer long, adding a splash of color and creativity to our space.

At the library, we’re all about celebrating our differences as well as the things that unite us. This art exchange is a perfect reminder that, no matter where we come from, creativity has the power to bring us all together.

Come by, explore the amazing artwork and celebrate the beautiful diversity that makes our world so wonderful!
