By Dave Fletcher, Branch Librarian
While the Comstock Park Branch may not be one of KDL’s biggest, there are plenty of good reasons to stop by and check out what we have to offer.
Our award-winning decorations in the branch are always a treat. From the mouse tea party and winter-ready Al the Octopus in our kids’ area to our secret fairy door in the teen area to our well-dressed goose guarding the magazines, there’s always something new and whimsical to see.
If you are looking to spend some time, we have plenty of in-house activities for kids of all ages. There is our multi-grid Tic-Tac-Toe Board where you can play against friends or make some new ones. We also have a Community Coloring Project where you can help decorate our wall, or you can create your own art at the Fall Craft Station.
If, like a librarian, you like searching for things, we always have a scavenger hunt and an amazing I-Spy Terrarium where kids (and adults) can search for hidden wonders (and googly eyes).
If you would like to get some fresh air, you can take in our beautiful outdoor murals, the newly installed observation deck and waterwheel over the creek, or take a journey through neighboring Dwight Lydell Park where we have a Story Walk.
We hope to see you soon!
