Meet Abby. She has been a youth librarian for the last 10 years, hosting storytimes, babytimes, mom’s support groups and fun family events. She loves connecting people to just the right story and just the right information that they need in the moment.
"I am lucky enough to see children grow into lifelong readers," said Abby. "Public libraries are the safe spaces we are all craving after years of disconnection and isolation. I am so grateful that I get to be a facilitator of community."
Let's get to know Abby a little bit more.
The best book I have ever read is…
The Summer that Melted Everything by Tiffany McDaniel.
If I had a day all to myself, I would spend my time…
Mountain biking in the woods with my best friend followed by ice cream in Rockford on a warm summer night.
Something people would be surprised to find out about me is…
I lived in New Zealand for a year in the same location as Hobbiton, Middle Earth. I danced around the party tree and explored barefoot for the full hobbit immersion.
When I was a child, I wanted to grow up to be…
A pilot just like my dad.
If I ever wrote a book, it would be called…
I Might Just be a Raccoon – Tales from a Trash-Talking Book Bandit.
