Mark your calendar for a free music festival celebrating your favorite West Michigan artists from the KDL Vibes collection. Vibes Fest will take place from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 13 at the Cascade Twp. Branch of KDL. Chat with other music fans, hear some of your favorite local musicians and get introduced to your next favorite band—all while hanging out at the library.
The Nicholas James Trio will perform in the outdoor pavilion at Friendship Park at 5:30 PM. The Nicholas James Trio offers a heartfelt, acoustic-driven interpretation of storytelling through music. Blending folk, Americana, and country in a cozy, intimate format, the trio showcases Nicholas James Thomasma's narrative songwriting at its most authentic. His style is known for its sincerity and narrative depth, shaped by stories collected during his travels in a vintage Volkswagen bus.
Thomasma said, "I love the way libraries have evolved in recent years. Libraries used to be quiet places but now they are joyful and interactive. Today's library is filled with games, activities, music and laughter. KDL is at the forefront of these changes. For example, you can check out records to spin at home. You can borrow the turntable if you need that too. The KDL Vibes program is literally revolutionary! Vibes Fest is a celebration of the evolution of the library."
