Barb Malburg is retiring on October 30 and we sure are going to miss her. She has worked at our Comstock Park Branch as an Assistant Branch Librarian (formerly known as Circulation Assistant) for over 22 years. She likes to show people how easy it is to use Libby and Hoopla and appreciates that KDL is a place where people receive personal attention and kindness.
"It has been an honor to work at KDL, a place that helps people in whatever way we can," said Barb. "It's been fun that I live in the neighborhood that I work in, and get to see many of my friends and neighbors here."
Laura Youells, Barb's co-worker, had this to say about her: "Barb started coming to the library as a patron with her kids many years ago until Nancy Mulder (a former manager at KDL) told her she should get a job here! She knows many patrons by name, but they are more than patrons to her, they are neighbors and friends. Barb truly lives and breathes community. She brings her full heart to work and she will be missed by many."
