KDL Welcomes New Manager at the Englehardt and Alto Branches

Kent District Library is pleased to welcome Dave Palma as the Regional Manager II at the Englehardt and Alto Branches. Palma will provide direct and indirect supervision of all branch staff. He will be responsible for day-to-day circulation operations and implementation of policy and procedural changes.

Palma was previously a Teen Paraprofessional and Branch Librarian at KDL.

"Ten years ago, I was working as a treatment specialist at a youth at-risk home in Grand Rapids, dreaming of what it would be like to be a librarian," Palma said.  "In 2015, that dream became a reality when I started working for the Cascade Township Branch.  After eight years working in Cascade with children, teens and adults, I am thrilled to join this new role and serve the Alto and Lowell communities."

Palma replaces Kurt Lardie, who is now the Regional Manager I at the Englehardt and Alto Branches. Lardie will ensure that quality services and procedures are delivered by the branches he oversees and will be chiefly responsible to serve as a community liaison for the Lowell and Alto communities as a representative of Kent District Library.
