Kent District Library Hosts Music Festival Featuring Local Artists

Enjoy summer with a music festival celebrating your favorite West Michigan artists from the KDL Vibes collection. Vibes Fest will include daily concerts at KDL's Cascade Twp. Branch August 5-9, and the event will culminate with an all-day music extravaganza on August 10.

Chat with other music fans, hear some of your favorite local musicians and get introduced to your next favorite band—all while hanging out at the library.

"Food and music are two things that connect us in a way that supersedes the things that divide us,” said Lulu Brown, regional manager at the Cascade Twp. Branch of Kent District Library. “Vibes Fest is an opportunity to bring people in the community together to celebrate local musicians of all genres.”

The festival will take place from 10:00 AM to 9:15 PM on Saturday, August 10, with concerts both inside the Cascade Twp. Branch of KDL and at the new Friendship Park, located right outside the library. Featured performers include Earth Radio, Ralston Bowles, Rabbit Fur, Pia Lu, Singing Lungs and more. The event will include food trucks, a Beer Tent from 3:00-8:00 PM and activities for kids.

KDL Vibes is a commercial-free streaming service that gives local musicians a platform to share their music and gives patrons a portal to all of the awesome music that these artists have to share. With the help of a team of curators, which is comprised of musicians and music advocates, KDL has built a collection of albums that represents all the awesome sounds of West Michigan.
