Literary greats will grace Grand Rapids for the seventh annual Literary Libations Gala Fundraiser hosted by Kent District Library. The event will take place from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Thursday, September 16 at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Four notable authors will take to the stage or screen for a memorable night of dinner, drinks and discussion.
This year, the presenter line-up includes Catherine Coulter, author of Vortex, Peter Heller, author of The Guide, Rebecca Deng, author of What They Meant for Evil, and Christopher Cosmos, author of Once We Were Here. Deng and Cosmos will be joining in person, while Coulter and Heller will be joining virtually. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
“After what proved to be an extremely challenging year for events in 2020, we at KDL are excited to host this event in-person yet again,” Said Christine Mwangi, Director of Fund Development at Kent District Library. “We look forward to seeing old and new friends while supporting great authors as they promote their latest works. See you at the gala!”
Proceeds from Literary Libations will support KDL programs and services. Tickets can be purchased at kdl.org/literary-libations. Tickets are $1,200 for a whole table (8 guests), $600 for a half table (4 guests) and $175 per person.
Catherine Behrendt from WZZM will emcee the event. At the event, KDL will announce this year’s Library Champion Award winner, a person in our community who has made notable impact in the library through philanthropy, volunteerism or service. Previous winners include Amy Van Andel and Randy Hansen.
