At Kent District Library, we’re committed to fostering inclusivity and ensuring that all community members have access to information, resources and programs—regardless of language barriers. To support this mission, we’re excited to offer interpretation equipment kits that can be borrowed by our patrons.
What’s Included in the Kits?
Each interpretation equipment kit includes:
- One transmitter
- 25 receiving headsets
KDL offers four kits in total:
- Two digital broadcasting kits
- Two radio wave broadcasting kits (a patron favorite!)
How to Borrow the Equipment
These kits are housed at the KDL Service Center (located in Comstock Park) and must be picked up and returned there. Patrons can borrow anywhere from one to four kits at a time. Both KDL and Grand Rapids Public Library cardholders, as well as institutional cardholders, are eligible to check them out.
To reserve a kit:
- Email: CommunityEngagementEmail@kdl.org
- Call: 616-784-2016, Ext. 2172
Promoting Inclusivity and Communication
These interpretation kits are perfect for facilitating communication at library events, community programs or meetings where language differences may otherwise pose challenges. By providing this service, KDL aims to empower everyone in our community to connect, learn and engage.
Ready to bridge the gap? Reserve your interpretation equipment today and help make our community a more inclusive space for all.
