By Audrey Barker, Branch Librarian
In celebration of Earth Day, the Kentwood Branch is offering an exciting opportunity alongside our annual crafts and activities celebrating Mother Earth. This year, we’ve partnered with the MSU Extension to present ‘One Earth,’ a unique art creation event with an international twist! The event will take place from 10:00 AM until noon on Saturday, April 19.
Participants will have the chance to create artwork using a variety of materials—from paint to pinecones—relying solely on their own imagination and skills. A selection of these artworks will be sent to China for display. In return, we will receive artwork created by Chinese artists to showcase in our library. All materials will be provided, but if you have special materials you'd like to incorporate into your piece, feel free to bring them along.
In addition to the ‘One Earth’ art project, the event will feature Earth-friendly crafts, a plant swap, hands-on activities and information about local sustainability programs. It’s a great way to celebrate our little blue planet—and best of all, it’s completely free.
Join us for a day of creativity, connection, and environmental appreciation. We can't wait to see what you create!
