As the leaves turn colors and the wind becomes more biting, we often hibernate inside, away from the cold. But there’s still plenty of fun to be had, especially at the KDL branches. While the library is a great place to get reading materials and even video games, many of our branches offer amenities to help pass those darkening fall days.
- Marvel at underwater life with aquariums at the East Grand Rapids, Plainfield Twp. and Cascade Twp. Branches.
- Play board games at the Caledonia Twp. and Plainfield Twp. Branches.
- Pass the time putting together a puzzle at the Caledonia Twp., Kentwood (Richard L. Root) and Plainfield Twp. Branches (and then take one home with you).
- Get some supplies for your next masterpiece at the Cascade Twp., Kentwood and Nelson Twp. Branches’ craft supply exchanges.
- Keep the kids entertained with the Lego® and art rooms at the East Grand Rapids Branch or look for treasures in Comstock Park Branch’s I-SPY Terrarium.
-Search for hidden items or pictures, as many branches offer a scavenger hunt.
- Bring a dollar for coffee or hot chocolate and cozy up next to a fireplace, found in many of our branches.
- Take a moment to appreciate the beautiful views through the windows at the Kentwood (Richard L. Root), East Grand Rapids and Englehardt (Lowell) Branches.
Don’t forget about the many programs happening at all the branches throughout the week. To see what’s happening at the branch nearest you, visit kdl.org/events.
There’s so much to discover this fall at KDL!
