Here at the Wyoming Branch, we are excited to introduce a new Crafting Corner, located near the Large Print section. This is a welcoming, self-guided space designed for anyone who wants to explore their creativity and make something for fun --- no prior experience required.
Our Crafting Corner is stocked with a rotating selection of supplies. Each month, we’ll feature a suggested craft to spark ideas and invite experimentation. January is all about ZINES! Zines are small, handmade booklets that can be used for drawing, writing, collage, journaling or storytelling. Zines are a great low-pressure way to play with ideas and create something uniquely your own. In February, we will be making valentines.
While there’s a monthly theme, patrons are always free to use the space however they like. Whether you spend five minutes folding paper or an hour deep in creative flow, the Craft Corner is meant to be flexible, calm and welcoming. Feel free to work solo or bring a friend.
Supplies are provided, and access is easy—just stop by the front desk to get started. We ask that patrons help tidy the space when they’re finished so it’s ready for the next person to enjoy. We’re also happy to accept donations of craft supplies, which help us keep the Craft Corner stocked and fresh. A list of most-needed items will be available soon.
If you’ve been looking for a reason to slow down, try something new or reconnect with your creative side, we invite you to stop by the Crafting Corner and make something just for you.
Display Zines created by tiny needle studio and various artists from Quarantine Public Library.
