This Saturday, September 23, Kent District Library will host a Mental Health Expo from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch. Join local service providers and experts to learn more about mental health and the organizations available within our community.

One of the featured organizations is MSU Extension. Carly Sandoval shares more:

With a presence in every Michigan county, Michigan State University (MSU) Extension, opens a new window helps people improve their lives by bringing the vast knowledge resources of MSU directly to individuals, communities and businesses by providing tools to live and work better.

One focus of MSU Extension is to promote mental and emotional health and well-being. This goal is met through providing courses, opens a new window such as Adult Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Teen Mental Health First Aid, RELAX: Alternatives to Anger, Mindfulness for Wellbeing, Stress Less with Mindfulness, Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) and one-time presentations about stress management, opioid use prevention and other related topics. MSU Extension provides these courses through a combination of self-paced online, live online and in-person presentations.

Additionally, MSU Extension Educators have created and are continuing to create online articles on a variety of health and wellness topics. If you still can't find what you are looking for through our various classes, articles and other online resources, you can always submit a question to Ask Extension, opens a new window and an expert will provide an answer.

The main thing to know about MSU Extension is that we are here for YOU, whoever you may be, to provide services and resources that can help you to reach your individual, family, workplace or community goals.
