Here are some important things you should know about changes in service with January 17 being the last day of operation for the Krause Memorial Library.
As we prepare to relocate the Krause Memorial Branch to a temporary space at the Rockford Community Cabin to make way for construction, in-person services and hold-pickup locations will change:
January 7 – Last day materials will be added to the shelves for hold pickup. If you have a hold request scheduled to be picked up at Krause Memorial, it will be paused until the temporary location opens.
January 8 – The current Krause Memorial Branch will be temporarily unavailable to choose for new hold pickups. You may choose any of the other 19 KDL locations as your hold pickup location.
January 17 – Last day that the current Krause Memorial Branch will be open. Last day to pick up holds, return materials and use the book drop. Please pick up/drop off items by 5:00 PM. You may choose any of the other 19 KDL locations to return materials.
February 2 – The temporary location will open at the Rockford Community Cabin, 220 N. Monroe St, Rockford, MI 49341. This location will be a new option for hold pickups, named “Krause Temporary.”

Youth = Parkside Early Childhood Center, 156 Lewis St, Rockford, MI 49341
Adult = Rockford City Hall, 7 S Monroe St NE, Rockford, MI 49341

What if you have materials on hold now for pickup at the Krause Memorial Branch?
Holds will continue to be on the hold shelf for 10 days from their arrival in the branch. Expiration dates for pick up will be listed on your notification messages. January 17 is the final day to pick up holds that arrived on January 7.
You can easily change the pickup location for your materials requests that have not yet arrived at the branch. Go to kdl.org and log in with your library card; then click “On Hold.” Click “Pick up at Krause Memorial (Rockford)” and choose another location from the list that appears.
