KDL Welcomes New Board Member

Christina Tazelaar has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Kent District Library by the Kent County Board of Commissioners.
She represents Region 6, which includes the City of Kentwood, Caledonia Twp. and Gaines Twp.

Tazelaar serves as chief operating officer at the Reformed Church in America. Until recently, she spent her career in communications and marketing, also at the Reformed Church in America, where she started as an editorial assistant shortly after graduating from Calvin College. She lives in Kentwood, Michigan, with her husband and two children, and enjoys reading, travel, skiing, and time outdoors.

"I am delighted to be serving on the Board of Trustees to support our incredible library system, which enriches our community in so many ways," Tazelaar said.

The eight members of the KDL Board of Trustees represent 27 communities throughout Kent County. Major duties include establishing and maintaining a public library for Kent District Library, establishing library policies, employing the Library Director, adopting an annual budget, and approving the expenditure of funds. Board meetings are typically held the third Thursday of every month; times and locations are posted here:  Board of Trustees Schedule 2024 | Kent District Library (kdl.org)
