School is out and parents everywhere are looking for ways to fill those long summer days. Sure, the library is a great place to get reading materials and even video games, but many of our branches offer fun amenities that can entertain your kids for hours.
· Marvel at underwater life with aquariums at the East Grand Rapids, Plainfield Twp. and Cascade Twp. Branches.
· Explore the outdoors with the children’s gardens at the Cascade Twp. and Caledonia Twp. Branches.
· Ring Plainfield Twp. Branch’s reading bells, drum on percussion sculptures at the Cascade Twp. Branch or enjoy Grandville’s Musical Garden.
· Pack the swimsuits and cool off in the splashpads right next to the Spencer Twp. and Caledonia Twp. Branches.
· Play some board games at the Caledonia Twp. and Plainfield Twp. Branches.
· Search for hidden items or pictures in a scavenger hunt, offered by many of our branches.
· And who wouldn’t want to stop for ice cream at the end of a busy afternoon? The Nelson Twp. and Comstock Park Branches have ice cream shops right next door.

What if you don’t have kids? Maybe you are an adult who likes to work at the library and are suddenly overwhelmed by all the children there during the day. Some of our two-story branches, like Kentwood, East Grand Rapids and Ada, have a separate floor for the kid's area, providing adults a quiet retreat from the chaos.
Or maybe you are an adult who usually works from home but is having trouble concentrating now that your kiddos are there, too. Reserve a study room at the library. Many of our branches offer coffee options for a donation to help fuel your productivity.
But adults need rest, too. Take a break and enjoy the beautiful outlooks outside the Kentwood, East Grand Rapids, and Englehardt Branches, or go for a walk on the nature trail at the Caledonia Twp. and Cascade Twp. Branches.
