Sara Magnuson, Branch Outreach and Programming Specialist at KDL, is the recipient of the 2021 Frances H. Pletz Award for Excellence in Service to Youth. This annual award recognizes a Michigan library staff person who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of library service to youth throughout their career.
Since joining KDL as a Youth Librarian in 2007, Sara has dedicated herself to providing the highest quality library services, materials and programs to the children of our communities.
"I can think of no one who is more passionate about libraries and the ability of libraries to change lives than Sara," said Jennifer German, Regional Manager. "Her dedication, commitment and enthusiasm are contagious. Sara’s tireless service to the youth in our area has had a lasting impact on our children as well as our communities."
Sara visits schools, coordinates KDL programs and presents storytimes. She is active and highly regarded in local communities.
