KDL Executive Director Lance Werner has been selected to serve as a delegate on the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) Americas Regional Council. OCLC is a global library cooperative that provides shared technology services, original research and community programs for its membership and the library community at large.
OCLC is a nonprofit membership organization that promotes cooperation among libraries worldwide. More than 54,000 libraries in 109 countries use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve print and
electronic library materials.
Delegates reflect local and regional views on the issues facing libraries today. Regional Councils facilitate connections in three world regions: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Asia Pacific (APRC); and the Americas (ARC). Members from each region elect delegates to serve on the OCLC Global Council. Global Council brings worldwide viewpoints together, informing and guiding the cooperative from their unique perspectives.
Werner will serve through 2024.
