I stumbled upon DVDs of Project Runway Season 2 at a KDL branch several years ago. I had never heard of that show. I was fascinated by all the designers cutting fabric and making garments. The assembly seemed like something I could do.
Shortly after that, I bought a sewing machine and I've had all kinds of fun creating my own patterns and sewing a variety of different projects since then. I’ve made quilts, pillowcases and hats for my children and nephews, a Spiderman costume for one son and a ninja costume for another. My daughter drew a picture of a hooded snow leopard cape with ears and a tail and asked me if I could create it for her. The cape turned out great and my daughter gets lots of compliments on it whenever she wears it. It was one of my favorite projects.
Thank you, KDL!
