Program Creation at KDL

By Amber Elder, Programming Specialist

Did you know that many KDL staff are in workgroups? It's true! Each workgroup brings together librarians and other library staff from multiple KDL locations to focus on specific patron needs. Amongst other things, they create programming for all ages.

Recently, the Early Literacy Workgroup got together to finalize the program materials for fall's A Very Eric Carle Storytime. They put the materials all the branches need in tubs, and then these tubs get routed to the KDL branches hosting this program so that all branch librarians have everything they need for this special program, no matter if the program is at our Kentwood, East Grand Rapids, Spencer Township, or Walker branches.

Excited to see how the Early Literacy Workgroup brought the magic of Eric Carle books to life? Stop by one of our 19 branches hosting this program this fall! For branch dates, see the listing here, opens a new window. And if you're interested in more Eric Carle fun, our friends at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum will be hosting an Eric Carle exhibit this fall too!
