Update to the On the Same Page Author Visit

Due to personal reasons, Tommy Orange is no longer able to attend our upcoming On the Same Page author event on April 30. In order to keep the spirit of this event, in which two friends invite us to join their conversation around their books, Kaveh Akbar reached out to an author friend and invited this friend to join him on stage. We are happy to announce that John Green accepted Akbar’s invitation and will be joining him.

John Green is the author of bestselling young adult fiction and adult nonfiction. His works include the YA novels The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska and Turtles All the Way Down and his nonfiction essay collection, The Anthropocene Reviewed. Green’s newest book, Everything Is Tuberculosis, is a “highly readable call to action” (Kirkus Reviews) that tells the story of a young tuberculosis patient Green met in Sierra Leone. Throughout this narrative, Green interweaves the social and scientific history of tuberculosis, a curable disease that kills 1.5 million people every year even though it is curable.

While we’re disappointed Tommy Orange is no longer able to be part of this event, we’re thrilled that John Green is able to join us. We hope you’re as excited as we are to join Kaveh Akbar and John Green on April 30. Limited free tickets are still available. Visit kdl.org/samepage to register. Act fast!
