Get to Know KDL: Shelley, Accessibility & Inclusion Specialist

Meet Shelley! She is the Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist and has worked for KDL for almost 19 years.

"I have the privilege of working with almost all aspects of the organization, whether it's in-branch services, programs, collections or training," said Shelley.  "Accessibility is important in everything we do at KDL, and I love that I am a part of making our library system more inclusive and help find ways to eliminate barriers."

Here's your chance to get to know this wonderful staff member a little bit better.

My hero is…
My mom!

The best book I have ever read is…
Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner.

If I had a day all to myself, I would spend my time...
Napping. I'm perpetually tired.

The talent I really wish I had is…
Tap dancing.

The best trip I have ever taken was to…
Alaska.

My proudest accomplishment is…
Personally - my kids. Professionally - Talking Book and Braille Center winning National Library Service Library of the Year in 2015.

Something people would be surprised to find out about me is…
I like to cross-stitch... while watching football.

When I was a child, I wanted to grow up to be…
A math teacher, which is the complete opposite of librarian!

Three things I couldn’t live without are…
Coffee, books, and more coffee.

If I ever wrote a book, it would be called…
Blended: Memoirs of a Dysfunctional Brady Bunch - all about my very large blended family and the craziness that is Team Roossien.
