The Immigrant Connection provides low-cost immigration legal services to the Grand Rapids area. An initial consultation lasts approximately 40 minutes and costs $45. Call or email to schedule an appointment.

Migrant Legal Aid, opens a new window

Provides farm workers advice and referrals; community education and training; civil legal assistance for employment, public benefits, unemployment, and housing.

Adjustment of status, petitions for relatives, consulting, citizenship, EAD’s for refugee clients.

Free legal services to low income immigrants; non-profit monthly immigration clinic held in Grand Rapids, Holland, and Traverse City.

Provides assistance with general immigration forms, processing and referrals. Advocacy services for access to local emergency support services. Communication with foreign consulates, statewide partner agency referrals and follow up, funeral arrangements in foreign countries, assistance in finding missing adults and children.

Immigration Legal Services (ILS) provides low-cost, legal representation in immigration matters to those in our community whose household income falls below 200% of the poverty line. 

ILS accepts new clients only after a consultation. Consultations are held at their office. Call for a consultation appointment.

Connects refugees to services they would otherwise not be able to access in addition to providing programs to fill in some of the gaps in services for this population.

Refugee foster care, employment, resettlement, along with ESL classes and cultural orientation classes.

Languages: Spanish. Will arrange for translators for other languages.

Civil legal services: domestic violence, family law, disability, housing, public benefits, consumer law, Medicaid. No fees.

A Guide to Naturalization (M-476) provides information on the benefits and responsibilities of citizenship, an overview of the naturalization process, eligibility requirements.
